Introducing
you to Playwork! - Are you working with children and young people aged 4 to 16
years of age in a play/leisure setting?
This
course provides an opportunity to understand what Playwork is all about and “to
unpick” some of the language of Playwork – Playwork Principles, play theories,
play types and play cycles. How do all these contribute to the development of
confidence and self esteem?
The
role of a Playworker can be complex – not to direct the activities, but to
provide opportunities; to negotiate a framework to support play, but not too
much planning! How to balance health and safety requirements, yet provide
opportunities for fun, risk and challenge?
Four
stimulating and informative full days will provide you with the chance to
learn, discuss and reflect. Attendance
on the course and successfully completing two written tasks will provide
you with a L2 Award in Playwork – you will receive a nationally recognised
certificate from CACHE (Council for Awards in Children’s Care and Education). If
you're not working in a Play Setting you will need to complete a 20hr
placement during the course in order to achieve this award.
Plus - the great thing about this course is that once you are “hooked on Playwork” and
have got this Award, you have an opportunity to consider progressing to the
Certificate and Diploma levels to gain a L2 qualification without starting all
over again.
