Rudy Aernoudt is a Belgian and economist. He was successively head economist at the European Commission and (vice) principal private secretary of both Walloon minister of economy Serge Kubla and of federal and later Flemish minister of economy Fientje Moerman. In 2006, he became Secretary-General of the Flemish department economy, science and innovation.
Aernoudt is currently professor economy at the Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel, the Hogeschool Gent and the University of Nancy. He is also President of the think-tank België Anders (Belgium differently).

In his book "Vlaanderen - Wallonië. Je t'aime moi non plus" he pleads for another look on the Community debate in Belgium. Aernoudt asks for a better cooperation between the different Belgian regions and redefinition of some powers. "Vlaanderen - Wallonië. Je t'aime moi non plus" is considered as a response to the Warandemanifest. Dozens of Belgian such as Maurice Lippens, Baudouin Velge, Tony Mary, Rik Coolsaet, Luc Cortebeeck, Roger Vanden Stock and Helmut Lotti signed this anti-manifest.

Beginning November 2008 Aernoudt announced that he had founded a new French-political party, under the name LiDé.
