Conference Overview |
|
Building from the success of IntertechPira’s 2008 Chemical Notification and Food Contact conferences, Chemical Notification and Food Contact 2009 will instruct delegates on current new chemical notification procedures in various global markets through presentations, post-conference seminars and breakout sessions. Delegates will also receive an in-depth tutorial on REACH compliance as well as current and pending updates to regulations in the US and Canada. Additional sessions on food contact notification are planned for this year’s conference and delegates will be able to tailor their own program for a customized conference experience.
International regulations for the chemicals industry are complex and often contradictory, and it can be a significant expense for companies to achieve compliance in one country, let alone on a global scale. The 2nd Chemical Notification/Food Contact World Summit will provide a practical, real-world guide to submitting new chemical notifications according to international guidelines. The conference will focus on new chemical notifications, food contact regulations, REACH, GHS, ChAMP, exclusions and exemptions and much more.
Last year’s event brought in a wide cross-section of the chemicals industry, including representatives from: Eka Chemicals, Chevron Energy Technology Company, SC Johnson & Son, LyondellBasell Industries, Wacker Chemie AG, Bayer Materials Science, Rhodia, Hercules, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, BASF and many more. This conference provides an opportunity for government and industry to learn from each other through high-level presentations, discussions and numerous networking opportunities.
Topics to be discussed include:
• The next step toward achieving REACH compliance – 2010 and beyond
• Guidelines for new chemical notification in Canada
• What’s happening in China regarding food contact and new chemical notification
• Making sense of the notification process in Japan
• An update on regulations in the US
• Cutting-edge case studies from industry leaders
• Global coordination and compliance – is it attainable?
• Green chemistry initiatives and product stewardship
Conference format:
Plenary and Breakout Sessions: Presentations will be delivered during two plenary sessions and four breakout sessions over the course of the conference. Each breakout session will end with a panel discussion featuring the session’s speakers.
Networking and exhibitions: An exhibition hall, evening reception, lunches and breaks will provide speakers and delegates with ample opportunities to network and connect with industry colleagues. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for increased exposure.
