WRA 10th Anniversary Conference and Awards

The wood recycling sector is a young, fast-growing industry which is expected to expand significantly over the next few years as demand for resources and renewable energy grows. Already, around half of the waste wood generated in the UK is sent for recycling or energy recovery and now the government is looking at restricting it from landfill altogether.

The Wood Recyclers’ Association 10th Anniversary Conference and Awards, organised by letsrecycle.com, will provide a unique opportunity for WRA members, board mills, recyclers, local authorities and the community sector to come together to discuss these crucial issues and celebrate achievements to date. Marking the first decade of the association’s work, the conference will also explore where the next ten years could lead.

Topics at the one-day conference at the National Motorcycle Museum on November 1st 2011 will include competition for material between the biomass and panel board sector, efforts to assess the carbon benefits of recycling waste wood and government and regulator priorities. Awards in five categories will be presented after the anniversary lunch. Then in the afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to submit their questions to an expert panel of speakers.
