Understanding global economic growth potential has become increasingly complex and challenging in 2018. Growing trade friction between China and the United States has brought great uncertainty to global markets along with geopolitical tensions and variable economic performance between China and Western countries. All these factors make the impact of macroeconomic developments on commodity markets in 2018 difficult to predict. What are the price prospects for non-ferrous metals? Will tin follow the same price trend as other metals or will tin-industry developments result in price divergence?

With tin supply from Myanmar having grown rapidly for many years, will production finally experience a turning point? What about the supply from new mines in China? Will new mining technologies in Indonesia lead to an increase in output there? To what extent do political and social developments in central African countries affect the prospects for local tin supply? Do new applications for tin use present opportunities to grow consumption? With the trend of miniaturization of electronics, how will tin use in solder be affected?

2018 Asia Tin Week will be held in the seaside city of Shenzhen on 16-18 September 2018 and will endeavor to provide answers to the questions posed above as industry experts, leading tin companies and other stakeholders share their thoughts. This annual event is an industry benchmark, providing comprehensive and up to date market information along with plenty of opportunities to network and explore business opportunities with other key industry players. The key purpose of Asia Tin Week is to work together to both understand and improve the future of our industry. 2018 Asia Tin Week, the largest industry event in the tin world, is expected to attract some 300 attendees from over 20 countries.

2018 Asia Tin Week is organized by the International Tin Association (ITA), and co-organized by Yunnan Tin Company and Shanghai Futures Exchange. It is the sixth ITA event held in China following 2011 in Hangzhou, 2013 and 2017 in Kunming and 2015 and 2016 in Shanghai.

2018 Asia Tin Week consists of the main Asia Tin Summit, Tin futures forum, Solder Technology forum and various business cooperation, trade and networking activities. The meeting will provide delegates with rich insight, industry news and broad business opportunities. We look forward to welcoming you to the 2018 Asia Tin Week this September.
