UKERC Annual Assembly 2012
20th June – 22nd June 2012
Scarman House, University of Warwick

This year’s Assembly addresses the two UKERC flagship projects: Energy Futures under Uncertainty and UK Energy in a Global Context and aims to bring the diverse projects together in order to enable them to identify synergies, overlaps and gaps. Each presentation will be delivered to address particular aspects of the two flagship projects and highlight how the research addresses the Assembly’s overarching theme of Energy Futures under Uncertainty with particular attention to managing the identified uncertainties.
The penultimate Annual Assembly of UKERC Phase II is taking place at a critical time. All of the major projects supported by the Flexible Research Fund are now up and running; the two cross-centre flagship projects on Managing Uncertainties in Energy Policy and The Global Context for UK Energy - which will help define Phase II - are now under way; and the Research Councils have already begun a process to arrive at a decision about a “UKERC Phase III” post-2014.
The detailed agenda for the Annual Assembly is currently being developed with input from the steering groups running the flagship projects. The full agenda will be circulated in late-April. However, we know it will very much be a working, “sleeves rolled up” event which takes forward the flagship projects and the synthesis of UKERC’s ambitious research programme. There will be a mixture of presentations of emerging research conclusions (with ample time for questions!), break-outs focusing on synthesis/integration issues, as well as all more fun activities jointly with the Sumer School.
We all appreciate how busy your diaries are, but this is a very important event for UKERC and we urge you to sign up
Places at the Annual Assembly are limited; please register as soon as possible to guarantee your place. Not all UKERC members will be able to attend. Everyone who is able to come is expected to attend for the whole assembly.
