Questions and Answers Regarding Certification

Q: What are the differences between the AAMET Accredited certification and the Tania A Prince, EFT Practitioner certificate?

A: There is a cost difference. The AAMET certification is more expensive. The training is the same. The post training requirements are different, in Tania A Prince, EFT Practitioner requirements students are required to have a minimum of 25 hours of post training practise with at least 10 different people. AAMET requires 50 hours with at least 20 different people.

Q: Can I get both certificates?

A: Yes you can, provided you fulfill the requirements for certification.

Q: Why do I need a practitioner certificate?

A: If you are doing this for personal reasons, you don't. You can choose to be assessed though. At the end of the EFT level 1 and 2 you will be issued with an attendance certificate. To gain practitioner status, you will need to practise and be assessed on your knowledge. Your skills at using EFT will be substantially improved by doing this. In the UK, there is no law that says you cannot set up in practise after attending a training. You do however need to operate legally, which means you need to be insured. Many insurance companies ask to see certificates. Many will want practitioner certificates as opposed to attendance.

Thinking About Which Training Should You Attend, Option 1 or 2? Need to Know Why is Supervision Important?

During an EFT Training course you are taught how to use EFT. To become proficient you need to practise to enhance those skills. The post evaluation set by AAMET, the certificating board behind my training makes sure that you have consolidated that knowledge and can use it sufficiently in order to be able to practise with others on a professional basis.

Supervision is essential because it supports professional practice. It is important you as a trainee therapist or practising therapist have access to good supervision. Why?

  • Because you can learn off other colleagues during the supervision sessions how they tackle complex issues in their practice. This will  expand your knowledge.

  • You can ask for advice to how you can work with difficult cases you might encounter. You are not alone, left to deal with complex issues by yourself.

  • You keep up on developments within the EFT Profession and can keep yourself up to date on what you need to do in order to retain your membership of relevant organizations. This is important also for keeping abreast of any changes that occur that might impact your practice, so that you do not get caught out! You can network and connect with colleagues.

  • If you are studying EFT to become a therapist and have no prior experience working professionally in this area, supervision is the essential key element for helping you gain a professional mindset. It can help you on your road to setting up and maintaining your practice.

  • Supervision is the place for asking questions that pertain to running a professional therapy practice.

  • Working with clients who have emotional issues can have an impact on the therapist. Supervision is the place to discuss any emotions it may bring up for for you and get advise about the emotional impact.

  • Community is important to health and well being. Supervision creates community.

  • Supervision is also important as it gets you started within the profession! Many people attend EFT Trainings with the idea to start a professional practice. Without post course contact some of these people do not follow through with their plans. Supervision is a natural progression on the professional pathway to running a therapy practice. It is standard practice within the profession for therapists to have access to supervision.
